The enemy of my enemy... : People who stand up to you are usually people who have spent a large amount of time in space, and know how to survive on their wits. If things get too hot we can slip out of sight easily enough. Politicians and Emperors are easy to shake when they aren't surrounded by hundreds of armed guards.
