After passing through so many lifeless systems, it was a welcome relief to find life again, even if the temperature was so scorchingly hot we could only go outside at night! The other little difficulty we ran into was that the gravity was rather stronger than either myself or Pam are used to. We keep the ship's G-generators at an even 1 Earth G since that's obviously what the human body is designed to take (despite the fact we both grew up on planets with only about 0.7 G's worth of pull). When we shut down the ship, we had quite a bit of difficulty standing up with the relatively high gravitational pull of Cooperworld!

With a little practise, we managed to get around OK. At this point, I decided it was time to service the drive; I had been getting increasingly anxious about the possibility of a mis-jump to nowhere since it had been almost a year since the last service.

The system is well kept and reasonably policed, so it's not the best place for a bounty hunter to find pirates. It's not a bad place to take a couple of days off - there's plenty to do at Goldstein Starport where we stopped off, and the repair facilities are up to scratch. There are plenty of places to get something to eat and a cold beer, both food and drink being produced from farms on Cooperwold. Although I'm not usually a "rabbit food" eater, the locally produced salads are actually pretty good. Not to mention the armorfiends (the local equivalent of rabbits!)
